In this blog, we’ll be covering how to customize folder icons to the next level. This will help you to stand out of the crowd. You yourself will be pleasant seeing your own folders. 

Procedure

Step 1: Grab a .png file of the folder icon you want either from the cyberspace or your own (In case you made one, be sure to safe it as a .png file)

Step 2: (.png from cyberspace)

In case you have your own, you don’t need to go through this step, you can rock on by going to Step 3!

Go to Google Images and search for the folder icon you want. Here I am searching for ‘Iron Man’’, Tools — Size — Icon. (Make sure that the image resolution is 256×256)

 

Step 3: Right-click on the folder you want to change the icon and choose Properties from the list.

Step 4: Choose Customize from the dialog box.

Step 5: Under Folder icons choose Change Icon 

Step 6: A dialog box will pop up showing a list of icons which are “Pre-available” in Windows 10. We don’t want any of them. We want to choose our own folder icons. 

Step 7: Click Browse & select the .png that you have created or downloaded.and click Open.

Step 8: Press OK in the Customize dialog box.

Step 9: Hit Apply — OK
