Android & iPhone WhatsApp beta users get QR code support for saving contacts within itself

Now you can save contacts by scanning a QR Code

The Facebook-owned company has been testing an extremely handy feature in WhatsApp beta v2.20.171 for Android and v2.20.60.27 for iOS to save contacts within WhatsApp via QR code. The beta testers can now experience the facility and provide feedback ahead of the public though the company hasn’t released any official statements regarding the update. iPhone beta testers have also experienced a feature that provides password protection to the WhatsApp backups in iCloud Drive.

WAbetaInfo points out that the so-called feature can be seen inside the profile settings and allows users to show their QR codes to let anyone save you number as a contact by scanning the code. Users can revoke their QR code by tapping on ”Reset QR Code” just like how we revoke the group link.

Beta testers can now see the QR Code icon beneath their names in the profile settings, upon clicking the user can see their QR Code as well as scan others QR Code.

If you want to try this feature start upgrading to the latest beta version now. In case you didn’t get the feature, don’t worry any sooner WhatsApp is going to roll out this feature to whole beta testing family. In case you didn’t get it be patient just stay calm
